The use of the subject and object pronouns of the haitian creole.

 

SUBJECT PRONOUNS

In haitian creole, we use subject pronouns as any other languages. These are the 5 important ones: 

MWEN  = I

LI = HE, SHE, IT

OU = YOU

NOU = WE

 YO = THEY

We use the contraction forms for each one the same as in english. 

For exmaple,

 MWEN= M'

 LI = L'

 OU = W'

NOU = N'

YO =  Y'

Usually, MWEN uses with contraction form in the present simple. 

Ex: Mwen manje diri.= M' manje diri. = I eat rice.

The others, normally, use with the progressive form: AP.

      Li ap bwè dlo.= L'ap bwé dlo = He or she is drinking water.

OBJECT PRONOUNS

The same as the subject pronouns, we have the object pronouns as well: 

MWEN  = ME

LI =HIM, HER, IT

OU = YOU

NOU =US

YO = THEM

Usually, they use at the end of the sentence as in english. Sometimes, they are used with prepositions: AK and AVÈK.

Ex: Li Pale ak ou. = He talks to you.
