The use of the verb "SE" in different forms and tenses in haitian creole.

 

In haitian creole, we SE  to describe something or someone, it means: BE.

In the affirm, form, we have: SUBJECT + SE + OBJECT.

                                         Ex: Ou               se            John.  = Eres John.

                                                Mwen          se           yon doctor=  I am a doctor.

In the negative forms, we have: SE + PA + OBJECT.

                                               Ex: Se    pa      li. = It's not him or her. 

In the entéwogatif forms, we have, as formula: (ESKE) + SE + OBJECT. 

                                                                      Ex: Eske      se          Diana?  Is she Diana?

If you question directly to the person, you will have: (ESKE) + SUBJECT + SE + OBJECT?

                                                                                  Ex: Eske           ou             se          Diana? 

                                                                                         Are you Diana?

In the past, we have: SE + TE + OBJECT. 

                                 Ex:  Se te John.  = He was John. 

                                        Se  te  nou.  =  We were.

In the future, we have: SE + PRAL + OBJECT. 

                                 Ex:  Se pral John.  = He will be John. 

                                        Se  pral  nou.  =  We wil be.
