The use of the question words (KOMAN, KILÈS, KILÈ, KI KOTE, KIJAN, KISA, KONBYEN) in haitian creole.

 

KILÈ?: are used to ask about time. 

Ex: Kilè li ye?  rep: li twa zè. = it's three o'clock.

KILÈS or KI MOUN?:are used when you ask about people.

Ex: kilès li ye= who is he/she?  Ki moun ou ye? Who are you?

(KI)KOTE: is used to aks about place. 

Ex: Ki kote w'ap viv? = Where do you live?

KISA?: use to ask about things.

Ex: kisa li ye? = what is it?  Ki sa ou vle di? what do you want to say?

KOMAN? or KIJAN?: use to ask abour manner or way to do or see something.

Ex: koman ou rele? What's your name?  Kijan ou ye? = How are you?

KONBYEN?: is used to ask about quantity. 

Ex: konbyen pòm ou gneyen? How many apples do you have?

POUKISA or POUKI?: are used to ask about a cause.

Ex: Poukisa ou pa pale? = Why don't you speak?

      Pouki ou pa manje? = why don't you eat?
